COWYN proudly aligned with EPM Projects and Cranbrook School under a Novated Design & Construct Contract to undertake the complete refurbishment of the Perkins Building, the original classroom building of Cranbrook School first constructed in two sequential stages in 1919 and 1920.
This significant project involved replacement of existing Welsh Penrhyn slate roof, installation of copper down pipes and gutters, replacement of external windows and fire stair, restoration of rear balcony and repainting of the external facade to maintain the heritage significance of the building.
Internally, works involved the removal and reconstruction of internal walls including associated structural strengthening to form new layout; remediation of existing timber framing, masonry and render; reconstruction of damaged and missing ceilings; installation of new dropped ceilings; soundproofing; installation of new wall and floor finishes, joinery, services and associated works.
The dedicated Music Facility delivered ahead of Term 4, 2023 will improve engagement and solidify Cranbrook’s broader profile as a world class school and ensure the work completed in establishing Cranbrook’s Music program will continue to flourish and inspire excellence.
