The Senior Learning Centre at Ravenswood is a multistorey building encompassing a Drama Studio on Level 0; Student Kitchen, Offices, Amenities and LaScala Theatre on Level 1; Four General Learning Areas (GLA’s), Flexible Learning Spaces (FLS’s), Amenities and the continuation of the LaScala Theatre on Level 2; and Five GLA’s, FLS’s and Amenities on Level 3. 

The structure is comprised of reinforced concrete piers, footings, columns, suspended slabs, and structural steel roof framing whilst the building envelope is a combination of aluminium glazed windows, Askin insulated wall panelling, outer Aurubis copper façade, Lysaght standing seam roof with custom fabricated stainless-steel gutters and central glazed skylights.

Internally is a combination of glazed operable walls, plasterboard partitions, a central plywood clad lift shaft and stairwell rising from Level 0 to 3,  acoustic ceilings and Regupol rubber and carpet floor coverings.  

Externally is an open terrace from Level 1 with feature timber study bench and off form concrete furniture which links to upper and lower level via concrete footpaths and stairs. The lower level consists of a tiered kitchen garden surrounded by off form concrete walls and blade fencing.

Delivered within 12 months, the COWYN team is absolutely delighted to have been involved in such a challenging yet rewarding project. The students are blessed to have such an amazing facility to promote collaborative learning, we wish the Ravenswood community a smooth transition into the new building
