The new crematorium was unveiled by Dr Stepan Kerkyasharian AO, Chairman of Cemeteries and Crematoria NSW on Tuesday, December 4. The building is architecturally significant yet sympathetic to its surrounds and encompasses a Viewing Room, Furnace Room, Storage Facilities, Staff Room, Amenities tand associated works.
The Building enclosure primarily involves a unique terracotta façade and high pitch raking slate roof to balance the concealment of a cremation facility whilst maintaining an aesthetic look. The difficult project was executed with a detailed quality management and strict conformance to WHS procedures which resulted in zero LTI’s for the project.
